Mitral valve repair with neo-chordae.

چکیده
A 56-year-old male patient presented with an isolated posterior mitral leaflet (PML) prolapse due to degenerative mitral valve (MV) disease. The preoperative transthoracic echocardiography showed severe mitral regurgitation (MR) due to a flail P2 segment. Echocardiographic examination revealed a normal left ventricular ejection fraction of 67%, the mitral annulus with a diameter of 39 mm and normal right ventricle contractility with a tricuspid annular plane systolic excursion (TAPSE) of 38 mm. The vena contracta was measured to be 0.8 cm and the effective regurgitant orifice area (EROA) was 0.7 cm. The left atrium was slightly enlarged at 23 cm. The patient was in New York Heart Association functional class II. His medical history was otherwise unremarkable.

Neo-chordae length adjustment in mitral valve repair.
Appropriate length adjustment of neo-chordae using PTFE sutures for mitral valve repair in degenerative valve disease has a crucial impact on both early and late outcomes of the repair. Herein we describe an adjuvant approach to facilitate the length adjustment.
متن کاملCurrent concepts for minimally invasive mitral valve repair
Minimally invasive mitral valve repair is based on several procedural concepts. Recently, three of them have been intensively discussed: aortic occlusion strategy, use of Goretex-Neo-Chordae to repair mitral valve regurgitation and feasibility and efficacy of the minithoracotomy approach in mitral valve treatment of patients after previous cardiac surgery. Twenty years of experience in minimall...
متن کاملNeochordameter: A New Technology in Mitral Valve Repair
BACKGROUND Mitral valve repair has shown superior results compared to mitral valve replacement in patients with mitral valve prolapse. Using premeasured neochordae (the loop technique) has been proposed for both anterior and posterior leaflet repairs. However, there are two major problems that are usually experienced using this method. One is deciding the length of the neo-chordae, and the othe...

OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to evaluate the safety and performance of the NeoChord DS1000 system (NeoChord, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota). BACKGROUND There is an increasing interest in transcatheter mitral valve (MV) treatment. The NeoChord DS 1000 system enables off-pump beating heart transapical MV repair with implantation of artificial neo-chordae. METHODS Patients with severe ...
متن کاملPapillary fibroelastoma of a mitral valve chordae, presenting with atypical chest pain and palpitation: A case report and the literature
Background: Primary intra cardiac tumors are rare. In this article, we present papillary fibroelastoma of mitral valve chordae. Case Presentation: A 35-year old man presented with atypical chest pain and palpitation. Physical examination and electrocardiogram were normal. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) revealed a mass of 1015 mm attached to chordae of anteromedial papillary muscle of ...
متن کاملMitral valve repair with artificial chordae: a review of its history, technical details, long-term results, and pathology.
Mitral valve repair is considered the procedure of choice for correcting mitral regurgitation in myxomatous disease, providing long-term results that are superior to those with valve replacement. The use of artificial chordae to replace elongated or ruptured chordae responsible for mitral valve prolapse and severe mitral regurgitation has been the subject of extensive experimental work to defin...
